Andria, Judy and Mel have been learning and working together since early 2022, when we all began taking the Systemic Team Coaching® Practitioner program. We continued on together into the Senior Practitioner program with global thought leaders in the team coaching and supervision space, Professor Peter Hawkins and Dr. Catherine Carr. We formed a supervision group to continue honing our own capacities as coaches and supervisors, and also began holding regular conversations and collaborating on projects, and we started thinking how useful it would be for leaders to have access to the sort of thinking and perspectives Systemic Team Coaches bring to their work with leaders, teams and organizations. We also found ourselves asking questions around emerging leadership and team topics such as…
- What would it look like to use AI to stretch our own thinking (vs replace our own thinking)?
- How do you slow down for sensemaking in a system that’s built for speed?
- What role does trust play in sensemaking and knowledge transfer?
- How do each participate in our organizational culture? How do we contribute to dysfunction, either actively or passively?
- Are we as an organization even aware that we have behaviors that may be out of alignment with our stated values? And what’s our role as an individual if there’s no collective venue or will to have the conversation?
- What are the patterns that speak to larger systemic issues?
- What can leaders do with conversations that aren’t happening yet, but that would be powerful in catapulting their organization to a better place much faster than tackling it individually?
…and we wanted to invite you as leaders of teams to join us in these inquiries. So we started the monthly Reflective Edges dialogue series, and we would love to see you there!
